¢Á Publication and dissemination of English-language versions of Korean literary works

To introduce Korean literary works to a world audience, since 1982, the International Communication Foundation has translated into English and published Korean literary works for international distribution and sale. Working with YBM/Si-sa, the ICF has translated and published more than 230 literary works, including poems, novellas, novels, and dissertations and other scholarly works on the subject of Korean traditional culture.

To ensure the quality of its translated products, the ICF has funded the training of scholars at universities at home and abroad. Particularly, it has encouraged the recognition of Korean literature abroad by cooperating with foreign universities in publishing Korean literary works as well as studies of Korean literature. In furtherance of this purpose, in 1996, the ICF established the Korean Literature Translation Fund.
